We are excited to announce that from April 2014 Baltzersen’s will be launching a new addition to Harrogate restaurants to be named ‘Nord’.
The name meaning ‘North’ reflects the style of the food and our location up here in the North of England.
The food will be influenced by Nordic cuisine. It will use the freshest produce and embrace techniques for capturing and developing flavours (curing/pickling/fermenting) that can be offered out of season. We are pleased to be working with some new suppliers including R&J Butchers and Taylors Seafood and look forward to visiting then prior to our launch.
We will do away with starters, main courses and side orders. Instead we’ll offer a succinct highly seasonal selection of just 6-8 plates and two desserts. Each plate will be a complete dish and you are encouraged to try as many or few as you like.
Murray Wilson, formerly of The Yorke Arms and Harrogate restaurants including Van Zeller and Hotel Du Vin, will join Baltzersen’s as Executive Chef and take charge of this service.
Evenings will be relaxed table service. We plan to accept reservations but space for ‘walk-ins’ will be available daily.
A changing programme of bottled craft beers, wine and cocktails will be available to compliment the menu.
We will be seeking a couple of new team members to deliver this service – we’ll be releasing details of the new positions shortly.
We think there is plenty of room amongst Harrogate restaurants and the evening service is an incredibly exciting development for the team at Baltzersen’s. We look forward to welcoming you to Nord soon.
