Coffee in Harrogate: Introducing Our Single Origin Filter

If you were looking for coffee in Harrogate last week, you would have had to try one of our #ThinkIndie friends as we were closed to make some improvements to ever-evolving space – we are firm believers in the saying “new year, new me” (for somethings at least). One of the additions we have made this year  is our brand new filter coffee machine.

Recently, Paul won a grant from Harrogate Borough Council through their Shining Lights competition, which we decided to use to make our overall customer experience better. We put the money towards two main projects; the installation of a water tap, allowing you to help yourself to carbonated and non-carbonated water, and also the previously-mentioned new filter coffee machine.

This new coffee machine (also known as a batch brewer) will replace the Americano, bringing a new (and more efficient) brewing method to our coffee menu. Across Scandinavia, for many people, low-quality filter coffee is the caffeine hit of choice (but obviously we have chosen a high-quality equivalent). In-keeping with this, the filter will give an even more authentic Scandinavian experience in comparison with any other coffee in Harrogate.

The beans we use for this method will not be our North Star Baltzersen’s Blend, but instead a new, single origin coffee from Maude. The bean used is from El Salvador, with notes of nuts, chocolate and redcurrants. Brewing the coffee through the batch brew will ensure that we capture the optimum flavours for a very drinkable cuppa.

Not only are the flavours of a great filter a benefit, but also the efficiency. At Baltzersen’s we are constantly working towards perfecting our service and having a filter will take some pressure off our espresso machine during those busy parts of the day when the whole family needs a Saturday pick-me-up.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this tasty new filter in the comments below or by email, Twitter or Facebook.
