We love a relaxed Harrogate brunch as much as anyone but when it came to capturing the essence of lazy mornings at Baltzersen’s we had to make sure we were up bright and early before the customers arrived.
When our photography team arrived the day’s cinnamon buns had already been iced.
The counter was stacked with Skolebrod, Granola bars and freshly baked cakes and the scent of fresh coffee filled the air. Cakes began to arrive from the bakery as we sat, perhaps a bit early for us immediately but certainly something to nip back for later in the afternoon.
Fuelled with the Baltzersen’s Blend espresso from North Star Coffee Roasters, the photographers set to work.
They gained inspiration from our rustic Scandinavian interiors.
Meanwhile we were busy in the kitchen preparing some of our brunch specials for the cameras.
Gravlaks on potato cake with poached egg and sweet mustard dressing is one of the stars of our all day breakfast menu.
This tasty Scandinavian inspired brunch dish is available daily from 8am to 4.30pm (with a slightly later start on Sundays) along with other popular brunches like our avocado on toast with roasted tomatoes, shredded fennel, garlic aioli and lingonberry ketchup. And not forgetting our famous waffles.
The gravlaks brunch travelled the length and breadth of the restaurant as the photographers searched for the perfect light.
Thankfully the food was still warm when they finally took a brunch break themselves.
Huge thanks to Charlotte and Emmanuel for their brunch photography. Watch this space for details of new ways to brunch with Baltzersen’s.
We’re thinking of opening slightly earlier on Sundays – we’d be really interested to know what you thought about that and if you would like to come in from 9am rather than 10am.
