World Asthma Day at Baltzersen’s
We haven’t talked about this at all outside of our team at Baltzersen’s but we lost someone to an asthma attack on 6th March this year; he was just 30 years old.
Mike was a talented and passionate chef. He joined us after spending 7 years working with Bettys in July 17 and was consistently praised by guests and the rest of the team for the level of presentation he was able to deliver under all circumstances. He set an example that others chose to follow.
He loved music and enjoyed talking about it a lot. His taste was not necessarily (at all!) my own, but music was very important to him.
I had the pleasure of working with him and our Head Chef Swish at our first FredagsTaco on the Saturday before he passed away. On a personal level I am so very pleased that I was able to spend that time with him. It was a service that was a little different to the norm at Baltzersen’s, he was in his element enjoying a change of style and pace to the evening.
We missed him at FredagsTaco 2 and will continue to miss him especially during those events in the future.
We were able to get together as a team to remember Mike and mark his passing in our own way but we wanted to do something extra. So, if you would like to do so you can purchase some World Asthma Day sweet treats or donate some money in the cafe all day on 1st May 2018.
You can see a photo of Mike displayed behind the counter as you enter the cafe.
